MBC’s “Motel California” has shared a sneak peek of a heart-stopping moment from its next episode!

Based on Shim Yoon Seo’s 2019 novel “Home, Bitter Home,” “Motel California” is a new romance drama about a woman named Ji Gang Hui (Lee Se Young), who was born and raised in a rural motel called Motel California. After escaping her hometown, she returns home after 12 years and winds up reconnecting with her first love and childhood friend Cheon Yeon Su (Na In Woo).

At the end of the second episode of “Motel California,” Ji Gang Hui brought Geum Seok Kyung (Kim Tae Hyeong) to her yearly Christmas get-together with her father. However, when she arrived at the hotel, she was shocked to find Cheon Yeon Su waiting for her instead of her father. As Gang Hui had brought Seok Kyung as her fake boyfriend, the episode ended on a tense note, with viewers wondering if she would be able to clear up this misunderstanding with Yeon Su.

In newly released stills from the drama’s upcoming third episode, the romantic tension between Gang Hui and Yeon Su builds as they share a moment alone together. With Seok Kyung nowhere to be seen, the former couple is on their own in the hotel room. Standing close to Yeon Su, Gang Hui covers his ears with both hands, piquing curiosity as to what could have happened leading up to this moment.

Shortly afterwards, Yeon Su tenderly touches Gang Hui’s face as she gazes up into his eyes—and he appears to be on the verge of cautiously leaning in for a kiss.

To find out what happens during this unexpected Christmas encounter, tune in to the next episode of “Motel California” on January 17 at 9:50 p.m. KST!
