T.O.P getting attacked by Korean media for his role is nothing new.

Korean reports have been attacking T.O.P nonstop since Squid Game Season 2 was released. It’s no wonder that international fans are getting upset, as most international media have been praising him.
The Difference In Reactions To T.O.P In “Squid Game 2” Between Korean And International Outlets Spark A Debate
However, one reporter seems to be taking it even further by calling T.O.P a “druggie” and writing an inflammatory report about T.O.P. The headline reads: “‘Druggie rapper’ TOP, his bad acting has made ‘Squid Game 2’ unbearable to watch”

The report starts by saying, “If an actor with insufficient acting skills has a lot of airtime, it is the audience and viewers who suffer the most. This happened in ‘Squid Game’ season 2.” He continues on to call T.O.P “cringey” and asks himself if T.O.P was really the best actor for this role.
He continues on to claim that international fans wouldn’t understand T.O.P’s acting and cannot recognize it as being bad, because they do not speak Korean.
International viewers are not listening to it in their own language, so they can accept the dialogue, tone of voice, and emotions behind the words more easily. However, for Korean viewers who recognize the subtle meaning behind every word and understand it perfectly, T.O.P’s acting can only seem clumsy.

Lastly, he poses a question to himself asking whether or not Squid Game really needed someone who had actually done drugs to portray this role and whether T.O.P really was necessary.
“Did you need a rapper who actually did drugs?”
