The women of NRI Green Colony of Vrindavan have opened a front against Sant Premanand Maharaj. The protesting women have staged a protest against the padyatra to be held on the night of Premanand. At 2 o’clock in the night, Sant Premanand Maharaj, along with his disciples, performs a padyatra with his disciples till Sriradhakali Kunj Ashram, which includes thousands of devotees performing bhajan-kirtan. Women have started this demonstration due to the noise in this padyatra. Let’s know what women are saying on the streets with placards…
The women of the NRI Green Colony say that in the night padyatra, the supporters of Premanand are burnt and play hymns on loudspeakers, causing problems to the local residents. This noise has an effect on their sleep, especially sick and elderly people have a lot of trouble. Working women are not able to sleep, which also affects their works. The women who came out on the road protested with placards in their hands, on which it is written, “Which devotion, which philosophy… This is only power show.”
However, in a statement issued by the ashram, it has been said that the devotees who make noise during the padyatra are not associated with the ashram. The ashram has also appealed many times to prevent the use of loudspeakers and firecrackers. The purpose of the ashram is not to disturb anyone and they want peace to remain during the padyatra.
After the opposition of women, the night padyatra of Sant Premanand Maharaj has been postponed. The ashram has issued a statement and informed about this decision. The incident has highlighted the need to maintain a balance between the local community and religious events, so that both the faith of the devotees and the peace of the local residents can be respected.
