Specialty of Patola Saree
The special attraction of this exhibition is the Patola saree worth ₹1,25,000. Speaking to Local 18, Surendranagar artist Anilbhai Valera said, “100 percent silk patola will be seen here. We are exclusively selling sarees made from the famous Malabari Silk. Since these Patola sarees are completely hand made, their price is slightly higher. It takes about two months to make a single Ikat saree and about six months to make a double Ikat Patna Patola. This process requires a lot of hard work and precision, hence their price is high. The price of a single Ikat saree is ₹12,000.” Vinchiyabhai Bhabhor, an artist from Dahod, said, “We make bamboo items, giloli and sister jewellery. It takes about 3 hours to make one item. “We prepare various artistic items using local bamboo of Valsad.”
