According to this survey, last year 7% of women faced some kind of harassment in public places.

Among those who faced harassment, verbal incidences were the highest, which was 60% of the reported cases. The purpose of this survey
Xi Shakti Safety Survey 2025 aims to measure women’s perceptions towards safety of women and track progress over time. On March 8, International Women’s Day will be celebrated in the whole world (International Women’s Day). This survey provides important information about how the concerns related to the safety of women affect their lives and how women’s education, mobility, economic participation and overall civil rights affect.

How the survey was done
The survey was done using random sampling through computer-assisted telephone interviewing (CATI). In the first year, this research covered 20 cities and plans to increase it to 100 cities in future. Data collection was done in 10 different Indian languages, ensuring divers and representative samples of 8000 responders in each city. Demographic variables of the survey include age, education level, marital status and monthly income of the house.
