Hoda Kotb is no stranger to sharing other people’s stories, but her latest venture marks a shift in focus. The longtime journalist and author has officially launched Joy 101, a wellness platform and app centered around daily practices and expert content aimed at fostering more joyful, balanced living.

“You know when you find something so special, so life-changing that you just have to share it? That’s me, and that’s Joy 101,” Kotb said in a statement. “It’s a place to pass on the light, the lessons and the healing I’ve been lucky enough to receive from the very best in wellness. Think of it as an introduction into a more joyful, balanced, beautiful life. Let’s goooooo!”

According to the brand, the app is designed to offer a guided experience, with tools such as breath work, gratitude practices, movement and sleep support delivered through daily content. Full membership access is available for $16.99 per month or $99 annually.

The app will also include insights from the Joy Collective, a group of contributors spanning wellness, science and leadership. Members include happiness researcher and Harvard professor Arthur Brooks PhD, entrepreneur Emma Grede, designer and Magnolia co-founder Joanna Gaines, journalist Maria Shriver, WNBA Commissioner Cathy Engelbert and NYU neuroscientist Dr. Wendy Suzuki.

Additional features include online courses and a community element. The first course is a condensed version of Becoming You by NYT bestselling author and NYU professor Suzy Welch. The platform also plans to host live virtual “Happiness Hours” with guests including Savannah Guthrie and Jenna Bush Hager. In-person retreats are expected to follow later in the year.

The Joy 101 app is available for pre-order now for Apple and Android. Pre-orders open June 11. More details can be found at www.joy101.com.
