There’s a lot more coming to Glossier this year than just skin care and makeup. According to WWD, the brand is gearing up to expand its body care category with body mists.
Glossier announced the news on June 5, and is set to launch a body lotion, body wash and body spritz in its “Sandstone” fragrance that’s already available as a deodorant, as well as an “Orange Blossom Neroli” spritz. The latter scent has notes of pear, mandarin and cypress, while “Sandstone” features top notes of sandalwood, fig leaf and clary sage.
“One of the most exciting areas of our business is fragrance, and how Glossier is reinventing and leading the fragrance revolution for the next generation—not just through Glossier You and our fine fragrance,” Kyle Leahy, the brand’s chief executive officer, told WWD.
According to Leahy, fragrance is Glossier’s largest category, as Glossier You was one of its bestsellers last year. At that time, the brand had launched two other fragrances. Body mists seem to be the inevitable next step for Glossier, as interest in fragrance continues to grow among consumers and beauty enthusiasts.
“Fragrance has been such a force of momentum for us,” Leahy added. “We always want to think about how we can connect to the consumers, where we have opportunity and insight that they may be looking for Glossier. Body mists are seeing incredible growth.”
The new body mists, as well as the new body lotion and cleanser, will be available for purchase at Sephora on June 17.
