Allison Holker is opening up about her decision to get plastic surgery later in her career. On a recent episode of her podcast, Between Us, the 37-year-old So You Think You Can Dance alum spoke to guest Jessica Hall about beauty standards, what cosmetic procedures she’s had done and why she waited until later in life to get a breast augmentation.

“I recently had a boob job and I’m so happy with it,” she said. “I’ve wanted a boob job since I was in high school but, because of my career and dancing, I never really made time for it. Because I was like, ‘OK, I’ll have to take a couple months off from it.’”

Holker continued, saying that her biggest concern before getting surgery was the healing process and whether or not she’d be able to handle such a big change to her body as an 18-year-old—so she put it off until later. “Three kids later and I’m not dancing like I used to,” she said. “So I was like, ‘OK, maybe this is the right time for me.’”

Holker shares three children with her late husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss, who died by suicide in 2022 at age 40. She continues to deal with the fallout of Boss’s death, as his family is currently seeking legal action against Holker for allegations she made about the former Ellen DeGeneres Show star in her memoir.

“I’ve gone through a lot the last couple years, and I was really down on myself and my confidence level was kind of all over the place,” she said. “I was like, ‘I think I’m going to do something for me.’ It was really nice.” She added that she appreciated being able to talk to her 17-year-old daughter, Weslie, about getting surgery.

“I think it really helped me, having conversations with Weslie,” she said. “Her seeing me go through the process of, ‘I’m going to choose me for a second,’ and now I’m so happy with it.”

Holker also spoke pretty candidly about her experience with Botox, saying that getting injections has helped clear her acne, and that she prefers her face to be less expressive now that she’s older. “I’ve been doing it for years, and I really do like it,” she said. “I like not being able to move my forehead. I’m way too expressive, so Botox helps so much.”

She continued, “It actually cleared up my acne. I don’t know if it usually does, but I used to have a very pimply forehead [and] it took everything away.”
