Ariana Madix Explains Why She Can’t Get Filler in Her Face

Ariana Madix isn’t afraid to be honest about the cosmetic treatments she’s had done. The Vanderpump Rules alum and current Love Island USA host recently appeared on Page Six‘s Virtual Reali-Tea podcast, where she spoke to hosts Evan Real and Danny Murphy about her experience on reality TV and getting older.

Madix turns 40 next month. When asked about her relationship with aging as a celebrity, she admitted that, while she feels a lot more confident entering her 40s, she also feels it’s important to be transparent about work she’s had done because of the pressure women face. “While it is nobody’s business what anybody does or doesn’t do, I do think it’s good to be transparent if someone feels comfortable being transparent,” Madix said. “There is a lot of pressure—I drink insane amounts of water, like 100 ounces a day. I’m in the gym constantly.”

Madix continued, acknowledging her place in an industry where physical appearance matters, though she still recognizes that aging is a good thing. “I’m going to get older no matter what, and aging is something that, you know, if you don’t age, you just die,” she said. “So I’d rather be aged than dead, for sure.”

The 39-year-old then revealed the treatments she indulges in, saying that she recently went in for her first laser treatment after being “very interested in that for a long time.” She also gets Botox every six months.

“I just got a little bit in my lips because they were getting really crusty on the inside,” Madix said, noting that she limits herself to just 0.5 units every time. “I always go in like ‘So, what’s the smallest amount you’d be willing to do?’ because I never want to look crazy.”

While she’s pretty regular with her Botox injections, it’s filler that she stays away from, though it’s not for the reason you might think. “Fine lines, I don’t give a sh-t about, but skin laxity is something I’ve been dealing with,” she said. “And they were like, ‘Well, because of that, you’re not even a candidate for filler in your face because you don’t have the structure to support it.’” She gets the laser resurfacing treatments in lieu of filler. They typically address issues like fine lines, enlarged pores, hyperpigmentation and texture, among other things.

This isn’t the first time Madix has spoken out about getting cosmetic treatments. In 2024, after a TikTok user shared before-and-after photos of the star alleging she’s had a blepharoplasty, jawline contouring with liposuction and volume replacement filler, Madix commented on the video, setting the record straight.

“You’re partially correct,” she wrote. “tox in 11’s, outer brow, and my neck. ellevate for my neck in 2019 by @theneckdoctor. minimal lip filler bc my face is too small to handle very much and filler in my chin.” She also made clear that she hadn’t gotten a blepharoplasty (a surgery to remove excess eyelid skin) “yet.”

Continuing on Virtual Reali-Tea, Madix explained that getting treatments is something people shouldn’t be “preoccupied with too much,” though she knows it’s no one’s business either way. “If you feel good about doing something, go ahead and do it,” she said. “I know that there’s a lot of speculation when people do or don’t do stuff anyways.”
