Bella Hadid Just Debuted Honey Blond Hair at Cannes

Bella Hadid stuns pretty much every time she makes an appearance at Cannes Film Festival. In 2024, for example, she stepped out wearing several head-turning outfits including a sheer Saint Laurent dress, a silk yellow Versace minidress and a vintage Gucci halter dress with woven silk detailing. This year, she managed to make a splash before even hitting a red carpet, and it’s for a different reason: her new honey blond hair color.

Just one day before the festival’s first film premiere, the model was seen arriving at Hôtel Martinez in France looking extra chic with a hair color slightly lighter than her signature brunette. Hadid wore her newly-brightened locks in an updo, and she paired her look with an all-white pants and tank top set and nude, slingback heels.

The 28-year-old has, of course, been blond before. In 2022, hairstylist Jenna Perry transformed her hair to a color she then dubbed “Aspen Blonde,” and in 2019, she wore honey blond hair to the MTV Video Music Awards. It’s also worth noting that, even though dark hair has become a part of her signature look, she’s actually a natural blond. Per a 2016 interview with Allure, Hadid chose to become a brunette to differentiate herself from her sister, Gigi.

“I just have a darker personality,” she told the magazine. “And my sister being blonde and me being brunette, it’s a good separation. I put a blonde wig on and think it would be fun to go back, but I’m happy with my hair. Blondes are so angelic. My sister can get away with anything.”

Hadid’s latest transformation is only making us even more excited for the looks she’ll be showing off at Cannes this week.
