Material

1 cup moong dal (soaked overnight)

1/4 cup onion (finely chopped)

1/4 cup coriander leaf (chopped)

1-2 green chillies (finely chopped)

1 teaspoon ginger (grated)

1/4 teaspoon turmeric

1/4 teaspoon red chili powder

1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin powder

Taste salt

1 tbsp water (to dilute the solution)

Ghee/oil – to cook

Prepare all these things for stuffing first

1 cup grated cheese

1/4 teaspoon red chili powder

1/4 teaspoon roasted cumin powder

A little bit of kasoori methi powder

Finely chopped coriander

Finely chopped green chillies

For stuffing, mix all these things and keep it aside, it will be useful when the cheela is ready.

Method of preparation step-by-step

1. Wash moong dal 3-4 times, then soak moong dal in water overnight. Then grind the soaked lentils in a grinder with 1/4 cup of water. The solution should be very smooth and slightly thick.

2. Now add turmeric, red chili, cumin powder and salt to the solution. Then add finely chopped onion, coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger and mix well. Add a pinch of asafoetida to the last and keep the solution for 15-20 minutes.

3. Heat the tava. It is very important to heat the griddle. Pour a spoonful of solution on the pan and with the help of a spoon, spread it round. Cook for a while, then add some ghee or oil on top. After a while, turn it over and roast it from the other side as well. Keep in mind that both the side becomes crisp.

4. Fold the cheese in the last and fold it, which was prepared before you. Serve the prepared cheela with green chutney or sweet chutney. You can also pack it by packing it in children’s tiffin.
