WhatsApp has become an important part of our lives, and many everyday tasks no longer seem possible without it. One thing that is most special about WhatsApp is that its messages come with encryption. The company always claims that the messages, texts, photos, videos being shared on it are all end-to-end encrypted, and no one can peep or tamper with it. But when many people complain that their WhatsApp has been hacked, then how does this happen?
Last week, NCP-SP MP Supriya Sule claimed that her phone has been hacked. Sule said that after hacking his WhatsApp account, hackers have sent him a message. In this message, 400 dollars i.e. (Rs 33,585.94) was demanded from Sule.

Later, in a post on X, Sule urged people to ‘never share OTP with anyone or click on unknown links’. He wrote, ‘Phone and WhatsApp are now working again.’ He also thanked Pune Rural Police and WhatsApp support for their help.
But the question is that if WhatsApp is encrypted then how does this hacking happen, then let us tell you that sometimes hacking can happen due to our small mistake or carelessness.
Two-Step Verification
As Supriya Sule advised, one should not share OTP with anyone. What happens is that even if you have turned on two-factor authentication on WhatsApp, you still need to be a little careful.

Security is greatly increased by two-factor authentication, for which you have to set a PIN. WhatsApp sometimes asks you to enter this PIN, only after which WhatsApp chat can be accessed. If you share this security PIN with someone unknowingly or if someone comes to know about it, then there is every chance of your account getting hacked.
Do not share the registration code…
When it is on, whenever the linked device is logged in by entering the phone number, a registration code is sent to the phone. So if someone tricks you and gets that code from you, then he can take full access to your account and can use it to send messages to anyone.
Click on unknown link…
The third reason due to which hacking can happen is that if you receive an unknown link through message or email and you click on it by mistake, then there is a fear of your phone being hacked. If someone has access to your phone, he can easily access WhatsApp.
