Mother’s Day is right around the corner, and no one is calling for a “quick pause” louder than Jamie Chung. As an Olay spokesperson, the actress and mom says it’s not always easy to take a time out, but it’s something she makes sure is on the schedule.
I’m sure you are asked to partner with brands a lot. Why Olay?
Olay is such an iconic brand. It’s the one I grew up with—my mom used the Olay Complete Lotion when I was younger, so I’ve always associated it with trust and quality. I love that Olay makes great skin care accessible to everyone, which is something I value deeply. I also loved that this campaign is tied to Mother’s Day, because it’s an important reminder to all busy moms out there that it shouldn’t be the one day where you get to take care of yourself.
You should take care of yourself every day, because you can’t give 100 percent of yourself to your family unless you’re feeling 100 percent. Olay’s new Super Serum Body Wash that is infused with 5-plus skin-care ingredients to deliver five skin benefits is perfect for me. As a mom, I feel like just a few minutes in the shower is all you really need to refresh and kickstart your busy day on a positive note.
What are some of your “quick tips” for feeling put together?
It starts with a quick shower. I use the Olay Super Serum Body Wash—it delivers five skin-care benefits in one and leaves your skin feeling silky smooth. As a mom on the go, sometimes I only have five minutes to myself, the Super Serum Body Wash is a game-changer to get that luminous glow from head-to-toe, even when I’m stretched thin. It’s like a little boost of confidence that reminds me that I’m a super mom!
My beauty routine on a busy day is super simple. A quick swipe of blush helps me look awake and put together—that’s really all I need. I usually keep an extra one in my bag so I can retouch between errands, interviews—whatever the day brings. It’s like my emergency blush kit!
In the mornings, it’s go-go-go, so I usually try to wash my hair the night before to avoid a frantic morning with wet hair. I also like to lay out everything I need on the counter the night before so I don’t need to think about it in the morning.
When you have time to yourself, what do you like to do to relax?
The toughest hour of my day is usually between five and six. That’s when I’m making dinner, the kids are eating, and I might only have five minutes to myself. Sometimes my husband, Bryan, can see me getting overwhelmed and he’ll tap me out—or vice versa—and we’ll say, “go take a breather and hop in the shower.” Just a quick rinse can be such a great reset. It gives you a moment to collect yourself and come out feeling refreshed. That small break helps me end the day on a high note—no one wants to go to bed feeling frustrated and icky. A shower becomes a little mental reset, which is so valuable, and the Olay Super Serum Body Wash totally helps with that reset.
If I have more than five minutes, then it’s usually laying horizontal and taking a breather and doing Duolingo, but that only requires seven minutes.
What are some of your all-time favorite beauty holy grails?
The Olay Super Serum Body Wash for Extra Dry Skin is definitely a holy grail, especially when my skin is dry coming out of the winter months—it’s gentle and hydrating. I also love the DIEUX Reusable Eye Masks, which are great for tired eyes, and the ILIA Multi-Stick in Lady Bird—I use it on both my lips and cheeks for a quick, fresh look. And for my eyes, I always have allergy relief drops on hand. Plus, LUMIFY eye drops help with any redness.

Do you have any facials or derm treatments you swear by?
My skin is pretty sensitive and I have hyperpigmentation, so a lot of the aggressive stuff doesn’t really work for me, but Shani Darden has this great triple acid peel, and I do it like maybe once every two weeks. It kind of takes away all the dead skin on my face which is important because I’m always in the sun.
What projects are you excited for this spring?
I’m really excited for people to watch the film called Stone Cold Fox. It stars myself, Krysten Ritter, Kiernan Shipka and Kiefer Sutherland—what a legend. It’s an indie film with a shoestring budget, but we had such a passionate team, and I think we created something really special and I’m so proud of this project. No one makes a good revenge flick like Sophie Tabet, and I’m so excited to be a part of her first directing debut.
