In just a few days, the happiest (for many such as myself), most rainbow-filled month of the year begins: Pride Month. Now more than ever, Pride Month celebrations are integral to fostering a healthy, strong LGBTQ+ community. Leave it to Sephora and the queen herself, Lady Gaga, to kick off the important month, as they announced this morning that the beauty retailer and leader of the little monsters are teaming up as part of Sephora’s We Belong to Something Beautiful campaign.
Lady Gaga Is the Face of Sephora’s We Belong to Something Beautiful Campaign
As the saying goes, visibility without protection is dangerous at best. But today, Sephora proudly unveiled its We Belong To Something Beautiful campaign alongside Haus Labs By Lady Gaga in partnership with Born This Way Foundation, aimed not only at celebrating individuality and queer liberation, but also on raising funds for queer youth.
“At the heart of this campaign is a new film featuring Lady Gaga sharing her vision of beauty as being part of a kind, inclusive, joyful, inspiring community, where everyone can safely explore and express themselves, mirroring Sephora’s purpose and vision,” the brand says of the exciting campaign. The film also highlights Sephora’s Classes for Confidence program that “brings community members together around a shared passion for beauty and storytelling.”
Putting its money where its mouth is, Sephora is taking its campaign one step further. From June 1 through June 30, $1 from every Haus Labs product purchased at Sephora will be donated to Lady Gaga’s own Born This Way Foundation, a nonprofit organization that empowers and inspires young people to build a kinder and braver world that supports their mental health. “Haus Labs is built on the belief that artistry and self-expression are tools of empowerment,” said Angela Simpson, chief marketing officer at Haus Labs by Lady Gaga. “This campaign is about showing up as you are and celebrating what makes each of us unique. We’re proud to partner with Sephora to support the next generation of changemakers.”
