Some artisans from Kashmir have brought this carpet worth Rs 20 lakh to Delhi. Its exhibition has been organized in the ongoing winter fair in Nature Bazaar of Chhatarpur, Delhi. Everyone is looking at this carpet but no one is able to muster the courage to buy it.

After all, why was this carpet made, how was it made and in how much time was it made…this information was given by the artisan Munir Ahmed who made it. He told that this carpet was made for the kings of olden times. He used to decorate his palace with it. His generation is still making this carpet. This carpet was made for kings on their special orders. But now this carpet is made for people’s homes. Its price is so high that very few people are able to buy it.
After all, why is the price in lakhs?
Munir Ahmed told that the reason for this carpet being expensive is that it takes one and a half to two years to make it. Two artisans make it together. If the artisans work for many hours, it will be ready in two years. If you work in less hours then it can be completed in three to four years, the more work is done on it, the more will be its cost.

He told that this carpet is very special because it is silicone silk carpet. Which is made only in Kashmir. The knots it has are of very high quality. Because of this its price increases further.
