He says that the marble of Makrana is famous for its strength and beauty and on this he carve with hand and prepare unique works. There are about 8-9 artisans in his team, who carries one idol each with months of hard work.

Unique statues without joint
The most special in his art is Gautam Buddha, elephant, lion and horse sculptures, which are made by carving the same stone. These idols are ready for months without any addition. For example, it takes about six months to make a lion couple and it costs three and a half lakh rupees. Similarly, the idol of Gautam Buddha is ready in one and a half to two months and its price is about one and a half lakh rupees.

Apart from this, Salim Qureshi and his team also make water fountains, elephant couples and Imam squad from marble. The price of five feet high water fountain is about 1 lakh 30 thousand rupees. At the same time, the price of elephant couple goes up to two and a half lakh rupees. The Imam Squad, which is used to grinding spices, starts from just Rs 300.

Finely carvings complex skills
It is not easy to carve on marble. First the stone is cut with a grinder, then the hand is carved by hand for months. Special care is taken of fine design and traditional style in every statue.
