According to Dr. BP Sharma, former ENT specialist of All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), Delhi, earphones, buds or headphones should not be used for more than 15-20 minutes at a time. How much noise is better for the ears?
ENT specialist Dr. Sharad Mohan (MS) says that listening to songs at a volume of 85dB or more through headphones or earphones can cause Noise Induced Hearing Loss (NIHL). Similarly, experts believe that earphones should be used only at 60 percent volume. This limit should not be crossed.
