Rajkumar Singh/Vaishali. Vaishali District Transport Department has taken steps to strictly follow the traffic rules. A campaign against pending e-challans will be started from 1 April 2025. If the e-challan of your vehicle has been cut and not yet paid, then it can cause trouble. The Transport Department can register an FIR if the challan is not submitted before 1 April.

If found on the road, the departmental team can confiscate your vehicle and will charge an additional fee of 25% on the e-challan amount. After this, the release of the vehicle will be possible only from the court. If you do not know your e-challan, then immediately go to the website of the Transport Department. See the challan by entering the vehicle registration number and go to the online or bank and pay the fine.

Not paid for 6 months
More than 5,000 vehicle owners in Vaishali district have not paid e-challan for six months or more. This amount is related to the fine imposed during vehicle checking. The department has formed a special team for recovery of fine, which is requesting the vehicle owners to pay information on mobile. Notice has been issued on rejecting requests.

First notice, then action
If the fine is not deposited by 31 March, during the vehicle investigation, the Transport Department will seize the vehicles and make 25% additional recovery on the fine amount. Vaishali DTO Dhirendra Kumar said that the vehicle owners who are fined pending have been sent notice in the first and second phase. Now action will be taken against them under various sections of the Transport Act. Despite the notice, a certificate case can be filed for seizure of the vehicle and attachment for recovery by registering a certificate case.
