New Delhi. Indian Railways acts as the backbone of the country’s connectivity, transporting millions of people from one place to another every day. Whether you are a passenger boarding the train or accompanying a loved one to the station, it is necessary to have a platform ticket to reach the train platform. The thing to note is that by now many people know how to book train tickets online. But, people are not aware that now platform tickets can also be booked offline.
Railways has a dedicated app called Unreserved Ticketing System (UTS) to book online platform tickets. Platform tickets are very important to control large crowds at railway stations and ensure that only authorized persons reach the platform. Earlier these tickets were purchased at the station counter, which often led to long queues and unnecessary delays. Therefore, understanding the need for better processes, Indian Railways has adopted technology to increase the convenience of its passengers. This app can be easily downloaded from Google Play Store.
