- Short red onion – 250 grams
- White Vinegar – 1 cup
- Water – 1 cup
- Salt – 1 table spoon
- Chinese – 1 tsp (optional, to balance taste)
- Black pepper grains – 1 tsp
- Tejpatta – 2
- Big Cardamom – 1
- Clove-3-4
- Cinnamon – 1 piece
- Turmeric – 1/4 tsp (for color and antiseptic properties)
- Clean glass bottle or jar (to store)

Vinegar onion Recipe Step by Step
First of all, peel the small red onion and wash it thoroughly. If you do not have small onions, then you can also use normal onion into small pieces. Keep in mind the onion should be completely dry.
2. Prepare vinegar mixture
Add 1 cup white vinegar and 1 cup of water in a vessel. Add salt, sugar, turmeric, black pepper, bay leaf, cloves, large cardamom and cinnamon. Now place it on the gas and cook till one boils. Once it comes to a boil, turn off the gas and let the mixture cool down slightly.
Now put the peeled onion in a glass jar. Then add vinegar mixture on top, so that the onion is completely covered. If the onion is coming up, press it down with a spoon.

4. Store
