The Secret to the Twist-and-Clip
“Depending on your natural wave pattern, twisting your hair while wet and letting it dry will definitely help to encourage some soft wave or even curls if you’ve got them,” explains Glass Beauty Bar owner and national artist for Goldwell, Steven Picciano.
Sometimes all our strands need is a little encouragement to form a wave, and a little product to help set the look.
“By applying a little product to your damp hair, combing through and twisting your locks, you are essentially setting your hair like a wet roller set but without the rollers and for a much cooler vibe,” Picciano says. “My favorite product for this is the Goldwell StyleSign Air Dry BB CREME ($11), easy to use, smoothes the cuticle and helps to enhance natural textures. It is soft, not too slick or dry and smells great.”
Air Drying Should Be Chic
If you’re worried about how your hair will look after an air dry, a fresh cut might be what you need.
“A great cut should air dry just as well as it blow-dries—that’s the real test of chicness and effortless beauty!” explains celebrity hairstylist and Moroccanoil and L’Oréal ambassador Dimitris Giannetos.
In this case, your result should be lived-in but still elegant.
“The final look should be beachy,” Picciano says. “The goal is soft, easy and effortless waves like your hair just a little better.”
