I still remember, after the Second World War, she took me and my brother to London for the summer holidays. It was there that we were taught these values ​​deeply. She would tell us, ‘Don’t say this’ or ‘Shut up about this’, and from there the idea of ​​’dignity above all else’ became deeply ingrained in our minds and she was always there for us.” It was this upbringing of his grandmother that made Ratan Tata a person who probably never complained about anything.

It was a great time, the weather was great, I had my own car and I loved my job. It was in Los Angeles that I fell in love and almost got married. But at that time I decided to return to India. However, this decision was to come to India only for some time. Because I was away from my grandmother for almost 7 years and her health was not well. So I came back to meet her and thought that the person I wanted to marry would come to India with me, but because of the India-China war of 1962 her parents did not want to allow her to go to India, and because of this our relationship broke down.’
